Access rights should not be treated as static once they are approved. Organizations should periodically review access to internal and customer systems to confirm that users, administrators, service accounts, and other identities continue to have only the permissions required for their current responsibilities. Reviews should identify unnecessary, excessive, inactive, or outdated access and ensure identified issues are documented and remediated. When an MSP manages access on behalf of its clients, centralized access reviews, documented remediation, and retention of supporting evidence provide auditable proof that least privilege is being actively maintained throughout the identity lifecycle. This ongoing review process connects IAM, administrative access, remote access, and offboarding into a continuous control rather than a point-in-time exercise.
