In what shouldn’t come as a shock, HP introduced a solution to fast track adoption of private Clouds with a new product named CloudStart. HP’s all-in-one solution has managed to beat Microsoft, Google, and Apple to the punch.
CloudStart is powered by HP BladeSystem Matrix and HP Cloud Service Automation with data services provided by HP StorageWorks.
HP’s main push is to provide a comprehensive Cloud service to companies to make moving to the Cloud easier. With the incredible resources that HP can leverage they’ve additionally introduced a Cloud Boot Camp to provide classes and a Cloud Scorecard to “test” if you’re ready for the Cloud.
In addition HP also unveiled Cloud Maps for the BladeSystem Matrix that provides “an easy-to-use navigation system containing engineering elements such as templates, workflows, deployment scripts, sizers, and whitepapers which save you days or weeks of time architecting infrastructure for applications and services.”
We’re looking at the tip of the Iceberg of private Cloud deployments. Because HP is the first of the big players to get there the pressure is now on Microsoft and Google to play catchup. I expect that we’ll see private Cloud adoption increase exponentially over the next year. I’m curious to see who will come out as the “winner” as far as offerings. What are your thoughts?
