6fusion Partners with Gyrocom to Bring 6fusion’s Utility Metered Cloud to the UK
June 12, 2012 – 6fusion, a leading provider of utility-metered public, private and hybrid cloud infrastructure management software and services, and Gyrocom, the UK’s premiere network and infrastructure systems integration consultancy, today announce a strategic partnership that will bring 6fusion’s utility-metered cloud solutions to the UK market. The UK is the first of several upcoming regional expansions outside the North American for 6fusion and represents a significant opportunity for both companies to bring the utility-metered IT approach to the UK market.
“6fusion’s goal is to bring the utility-metered approach to IT to organizations around the world and we are excited to launch our global expansion with Gyrocom in the UK market,” said John Cowan, 6fusion Co-Founder and CEO. “Gyrocom’s incredible set of skills and expertise in cloud services and 6fusion’s unique technology and approach is a winning combination for Enterprise IT departments and Service Providers in the region.”
“We are tremendously excited about the value that 6fusion and Gyrocom can bring to customers in the UK.“ said Graham Brown, Gyrocom Director of Business Technology Consulting. “6fusion’s unique metering of computing consumption across public and private IT infrastructures is something our customers have been demanding in a big way.”
The UK is expected to see significant growth in cloud computing spend through 2012 and beyond. The cloud computing market in the UK is predicted to be over $1.85B by the end of 2012, nearly doubling since 2010[1]. 6fusion and Gyrocom are very well positioned to take advantage of this large and growing market opportunity with a compelling mix of 6fusion’s technology and Gyrocom’s expertise.
As the exclusive value added distributor of 6fusion technology in the UK, Gyrocom will be an extension of 6fusion in the UK and will distribute and sell all of 6fusion’s products and services, including Cloud Resource Meter and Enterprise iNode. The agreement also gives UK companies the ability to deploy computing workloads in the iNode Network, 6fusion’s federated network of world-class data centers.
“6fusion’s technology provides the capability in a platform that is very easy to use and masks the enormous complexity required to deliver the capabilities for utility-metering,” said Neil Jones, Infrastructure Development Manager for the Kingfisher Group. “This approach enables internal IT to become a true service provider to the business and has the potential to drive efficiencies at all levels of infrastructure delivery.”
6fusion and Gyrocom are sponsoring and exhibiting at the Cloud Computing World Forum June 12-13 and you can get more information at booth #3120 on the exhibit floor.
