Paperless is the way to go

(MSPAlliance) – Thursday, May 4, 2006- Professionals of all trades- entrepreneurs, attorneys, bankers and accountants – all need tools to improve efficiency in a global and digital society.  Business is no longer a local, self-contained enterprise, and with reams of documents common for business, proper management of these documents in electronic form is critical.

A document can be a letter, e-mail, claim, photograph, medical record, depositions, spreadsheet, X-ray, video clips, voice mail or other exotic multimedia item.  Web technology allows professionals to simplify organization of and access to documents, through the common solution of putting them on a secure Web site and letting individuals access them remotely.

If properly cataloged and available online, documents can now be available immediately, and at multiple levels of security so that specific projects, cases and documents are available only to certain, germane users.  Instead of the process of photocopying and filtering these documents through a bureaucracy, now users can enjoy the flexibility of viewing document in private settings at a lesser cost.

Moving to a paperless society means the elimination of thousands of dollars of costs, including the elimination of paper copies, reduction of physical space devoted to boxes and files and incidental copying of memos and internal office documents.  Creating online document repositories can save companies at least tens of thousands of dollars, while making information easier to access with proper organization.
