Arrow Electronics will be entering the virtual desktop hosting space via a distribution relationship with dinCloud. The agreement allows Arrow’s enterprise computing solutions segment (Arrow ECS) to market, sell and support dinCloud’s hosted virtual desktops, hosted virtual servers and cloud storage services to its growing list of North American channel partners via the ArrowSphere online marketplace.
Arrow is one of several distributors to begin offering cloud specific products to resellers, including managed service providers. Arrow earlier in the year announce its ArrowSphere cloud offering, designed to bring a marketplace of cloud products to MSPs and resellers.
“We are always looking for strong alliances and relationships, and dinCloud’s channel-friendly model and solutions help us fill a growing gap in the cloud space,” said Jim Livingston, vice president of North American services for Arrow’s ECS segment. “dinCloud’s hosted virtual desktops, including its new webHVD, hosted virtual servers and cloud-based storage offerings, offer a comprehensive solution for solution providers as they build and grow their services practices.”
Arrow services more than 100,000 original equipment manufacturers, contract manufacturers and commercial customers in more than 470 locations in 55 countries. Arrow’s solution provider community can white-label dinCloud’s complete portfolio of cloud-based services, including dinHVD, dinServer and cloud storage for backup and recovery.
Additionally, ArrowSphere provides access to dinCloud’s online cloud orchestration and management platform, dinManage. Arrow’s solution providers have the ability to custom configure their customers’ virtual private data centers to host desktops, servers, applications and data securely in the cloud. dinManage provides the ability to upgrade, downgrade, add or remove resources in real-time for improved efficiencies, performance and time to market, while simplifying IT infrastructure management, service accounting and back office operations.
“ArrowSphere’s business services provide the essential tools for efficient, flexible and cost-effective service models that guide solution providers through an ever-evolving portfolio of best-in-class IT services and cloud sourcing models,” said David Graffia, VP Sales, dinCloud. “The timing of this agreement is ideal with the recent launch of webHVD, which is built entirely on HTML5. Customers can now get to their secure and backed-up hosted virtual desktop simply from a Chrome browser. We are the only hosted virtual desktop provider offering this and now Arrow’s channel base is privy to that as well.”
