Autotask Launches

RENSSELAER, NY August 8, 2005 Autotask the leading web-based IT Services Management Software today unveiled its Ready for Autotask Program and announced the certification of seven leading remote network and system monitoring tools used by Managed Service Providers (MSPs).

A revolution in MSP service automation is taking place, said Autotask CEO Bob Godgart. With the latest update of Autotask, e-mail alerts coming in from remote monitoring applications can be captured by Autotask. Autotasks workflow automation engine then instantly generates services tickets, routes them to the proper resources for resolution, monitors progress, and if necessary, escalates the ticket all based on workflow rules defined by the MSP.

To make sure that MSPs can readily take advantage of the powerful capabilities that the marriage of Autotask and remote monitoring applications deliver, Autotask Corporation has created the Ready for Autotask Program. It certifies that alerts generated by remote monitoring applications are fully compatible with Autotask.

To date, seven remote monitoring applications have met Autotasks certification requirements. These include N-able, HyBlue, Kaseya, Managed Workplace from Level Platforms, Monitor IT from Breakout Technologies, and Silverback. In addition, Zenith InfoTech will soon release Autotask Ready compatibility for their SAAZ product.

Autotask is actively working with several other MSP Vendors to expand the number and type of alerts from network system performance, to security monitoring and virus alarms — that can be automatically captured and processed.

“We’ve been waiting for something exactly like this,” said Dave Brewer, CEO of BC Networks, an Autotask customer and early user of the new tools. “Now that Autotask works directly with the monitoring software we use, we can save time and labor by handling alerts, managing and dispatching assignments faster, and tracking profitability on monitoring contracts much more easily. Our clients will benefit from more responsive service and greater network and system uptime.”

Autotask has set up a vendor neutral solution and can receive and process alerts from any number of remote monitoring applications at the same time, giving Managed Service Providers the flexibility to capitalize on the strengths of each. MSPs can also customize how Autotask handles an alert for a particular client, based on the clients Service Level Agreement.
