Another vendor has entered the popular cloud backup arena in order to sell their technology to managed service providers (MSPs). CloudBerry Lab, a vendor of an Amazon Web Services powered cloud backup solution for Managed Service Providers, announced last week an enhancement to its Managed Backup service by adding remote management functionality.
Using a web based control panel, MSPs can create and modify backup plans, specify plan name and backup source, create filters for specific types of files and folders, configure backup schedule as well as specify compression and encryption options.
All the configurations can be made through the web interface and do not require onsite support. Also service providers are enabled to remotely run and stop backup plans. In case something went wrong the MSP can remotely send logs from the user’s computer directly to the CloudBerry Lab support team to address the issue.
CloudBerry Managed Backup was designed to meet Managed Service Providers specific requirements and allows:
- Using own Amazon S3 or Amazon Glacier storage account as a remote storage for customers’ data;
- Complete backup client rebranding and customization;
- Advanced remote management and monitoring to ensure all backups actually happen and are ready to restore.
