HOUSTON, July 19, 2005 Truistic Software Inc. today announced that SunGard Institutional Brokerage has begun using TruAssets to help its small IT staff manage computers, peripherals, and software in the SunGard offices in St. Louis, Mo.
"Using TruAssets in our small office I can track all the software and hardware and keep everything up to date at a fraction of the cost and bother I found in the bulkier, more complicated IT asset management products," SunGard IT Manager Ken Allison said. "TruAssets is everything I could ask for. It doesnt involve a lot of mumbo jumbo. It just does what its meant to do. You install TruAssets on your server and go."
Truistics IT asset management tools are designed specifically for operations like SunGard, Truistic President Adam Blumberg said. "We understand that small and medium size offices prefer to minimize the need for, and cost of, elaborate technical support. We designed TruAssets to achieve a big result from a small investment both in terms of time and money."
Using the hosted version of TruAssets, customers can automate their inventory, track repairs, upgrades, patches, fixes, and monitor changes to all equipment and software connected to their Windows-based networks, but they do not have to install anything on their own network. No additional software is required, and the data always is up to date and stored in a secure, reliable data center where it is backed up regularly.
IT managers who prefer to install TruAssets on their own server enjoy the same features as the hosted version without installing any new software on the monitored devices.
TruAssets is scalable to any size enterprise, and is priced to fit any budget, starting as low as per asset for TruAssets LAN, and per asset per year for TruAssets Online.
"When people create new knowledge about their organizations technology resources they instantly understand better how those resources are contributing to the organizations mission," Mr. Blumberg said. That knowledge can be created only through a systematic IT asset management program that helps TruAssets users in:
* Budgeting -- Provides more accurate information about IT assets, and an easier method of reporting the data, facilitating preparation of budgets;
* Security -- Identifies client devices that have downloaded dangerous or illegal software, such as peer-to-peer or instant messaging applications. Also identifies wireless access points and dial-up modems that may circumvent security measures;
* Upgrade plans -- Provides accurate information and custom reports to ease planning for operating system or application upgrades;
