IBM Makes $4 Billion in Financing Available for Business Partners

Building on a similar campaign launched last year, IBM is making $4 billion in financing for its qualified business partners more accessible, particularly in areas like cloud computing. Leveraging IBM Global Financing, IBM will be aiming to get this money out to the partner community in order to keep products and services flowing via the channel and to the end user customer.

“Finding capital for a new business or idea is almost always challenging,” said Mark Hennessy, GM, IBM Global Business Partners & Midmarket. ” As a result, the gap between a promising vision and a business reality appears to be even more of an unbridgeable chasm. With this effort, IBM aims to provide the right foundation and resources to our global ecosystem of partners and clients to ensure that businesses, large and small, have access to the right technologies for success.”

It should come as no surprise that the managed services and cloud computing sectors have been seeing very promising demand, but lack of funding has been a significant factor in seeing those opportunities are met. MSPs globally, have been struggling with basic growth execution since 2008, when the global economy put a constraint on lending money. It willbe interesting to see how this new campaign resonates within the MSP community and whether it will help customers make the necessary change from in house management of IT assets to outsourced managed services, including cloud.
