Level Platforms Releases First Mass Adoption Managed Services Software for IT Solution Providers

Ottawa, March 8, 2006 – LPI Level Platforms Inc. today announced the release of Managed Workplace 5.0, a comprehensive remote monitoring and management software product for IT solution providers that offer managed services to their small and mid sized end customers. The all-inclusive features and new low prices are designed to make it practical for every IT solution provider in the world to transform its business from reactive break/fix to proactive managed services.

Winner of Microsoft’s 2005 SMB Solution of the Year, Managed Workplace is the first managed services software product to provide comprehensive, integrated, end-to-end features in one simple, low-cost, easy-to-use, agentless software application. On March 1, 2006, attendees at XChange, a premier world solution provider conference held in Atlanta, voted Managed Workplace 5.0 as the 2006 Best Business Technology Solution.

“We use Managed Workplace to provide managed services to hundreds of small and mid sized businesses across the United States”, said Michael Cooch, CEO of Everon Technology Services, Inc. of Boston, Massachusetts. “With Managed Workplace 5.0 we can provide faster response times and lower service costs while creating exciting new revenue opportunities.”

Managed Workplace 4.0 was launched in March 2005. More than 1200 solution providers chose Managed Workplace 4.0 as their managed services platform, allowing Level Platforms in 2005 to outsell all its competitors combined by a factor of more than two to one.

Managed Workplace 5.0 is the culmination of a full year’s development efforts combined with months of beta testing by more than 100 solution providers of all sizes. Building on Level Platforms award winning monitoring capability, Managed Workplace 5.0 offers a complete suite of fully integrated remote management features, all based on the simple, agentless, .NET architecture that remains the cornerstone of Level Platforms’ success.

The new version includes everything an MSP needs for end-to-end remote detection and remediation over the Internet.

Remote Control offers lightening fast connections from any browser to any Windows server or XP workstation (including MAC OSX, Linux, Unix and WIN 98 with use of VNC) residing at any end customer site. With a simple click on the “connect” button on the target device page at the central dashboard, a service technician can now take direct or shared control of any device in the end customer site within a few seconds, all with no VPN, no third party web sites, no agents, high security and full activity logging and reporting. Remote Control can be performed on non Windows devices by using VNC. (MAC OSX, Linux and Unix systems)

Patch Management for all recent Windows devices leveraging the power of Microsoft’s Windows Services Update Server (WSUS) but tailored to include all the features needed by an MSP to offer complete server and workstation patch management services to their end customers including a single WSUS installation at the MSP site, simplified UI, patch alerting and more.

Remote Scripting providing manual, automatic or alert based actions for any device or group. Managed Workplace 5.0 ships with approximately 50 scripts as well as the ability to easily create and deploy custom scripts permitting unlimited capability to automate managed services operations.

Level Platforms also announced a number of major enhancements to its core  remote monitoring feature set, each designed to create important new opportunities  or solution providers to increase the value of their managed services offerings.

Web Site Monitoring allows the solution provider to remotely monitor any internal or external web site as well as any hosted or non-hosted web site or application that may be critical to the customer’s business success. With this feature solution providers can extend their MSP offerings to include management of all the critical aspects of a customer’s business, particularly as remotely hosted e-commerce and software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications become an increasing part of most end customer IT environments.

Custom log monitoring means that virtually any event that occurs in any application can now be monitored with full automated alerting and reporting. Now solution providers can create new monitoring services that extend all the way to custom applications running anywhere on the end customer site.

As has always been the case all upgrades and support are provided free to existing partners so there is no additional cost for Level Platforms partners to upgrade from Managed Workplace 4.0 to Managed Workplace 5.0. In fact despite all these new features, pricing has actually decreased in virtually every category.

“Many of our customers are pretty small with only 5 and 20 desktops, a very price sensitive and demanding group” said Nate Freeman, President of Network People, Inc. of Clearwater, Florida. “With Managed Workplace 5.0 I can provide them a much higher level of service while dramatically reducing my costs. I plan to double my customer base over the next 6 months”.

“Managed Workplace 5.0 goes way beyond anything else in the market – at any price” said Peter Sandiford, CEO of Level Platforms. “With our super low, pay-as-you-grow, full site subscription pricing, it is now possible for every solution provider in the world to convert every one of their customers to managed services. This is the core technology that solution providers have been waiting for to make the transition to managed services a practical reality. In fact with thousands of solution providers now rolling out highly competitive managed services business models, adopting managed services will soon move from practical reality to practical necessity.”
