Lots of MSPs Using GFI MAX; 8,000 To Be Exact

GFI LOGOGFI MAX, the remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform vendor issued a statement that they currently have over 8,000 managed service providers currently utilizing GFI MAX RemoteManagement™ product. That’s a lot of MSPs.

“We continue to see strong growth amongst our GFI MAX customer base and this is due to our over-riding focus on staying engaged with the MSP community in order to understand how their needs grow and evolve as time goes on,” said Dr. Alistair Forbes, General Manager of the GFI MAX Business Unit. “Today’s MSP looks very different than it did just five years ago and it needs the agility to readily adapt to the evolving needs of each of their own customers. Ultimately, we provide our MSP partners with tools that are easy to manage, yet powerful, ensuring that they are well-positioned to develop deeper engagements with clients and to take on greater responsibility for their networks.”

GFI has been on a mission for a while now shoring up their position as one of the dominant RMM players within the SMB RMM space. Companies like Level Platforms and Zenith Infotech (now Continuum) were also quite successful in courting smaller business focused MSPs. Since Level Platforms was acquired by AVG, and Continuum was separated from the Zenith Infotech and may or may not be seeking an exit strategy of its own, the SMB managed services market is likely going to end up being a 2 player game.

Having two dominant players like GFI and AVG is good for the MSP market. SMB MSPs have to be general practitioners for their customers, solving a variety of complex problems and business issues for a customer base that is very diverse. These MSPs need their RMM platforms to be equally diverse, easy to use, powerful, and up to the task of a MSP base that is not only varied in their business models, but also in their geography.

I am looking forward to participating in the GFI user conference in Las Vegas, where I hope to gain a much better appreciation for the GFI MSPs, and what the future holds for the software company that has managed to secure 8,000 active MSPs. Good job GFI!
