In what could become a rallying cry for managed services supporters everywhere, one of the agenda topics for today’s MSPWorld will center around how managed IT services can (and should) equate to positive employment models. This is in contrast to how it has been characterized and mistaken by many as outsourcing.
Many years ago, when the MSP movement was just taking off, it was a common belief held by people in the non-IT world that outsourcing was the cause for job loss, particularly to overseas locations. While this practice did occur, it was not a common charactertisc among managed service providers.
In a time when unemployment is a global issue, it is important to reinforce the notion that managed IT services is not part of the offshoring community but in fact can mean job creation and innovation in the very country where the MSPs are located.
