Many of you may know of Zoho, a Pleasanton, California based company that creates online productivity, collaboration and business applications used by over five million users. Others may recognize Zoho’s IT management software brand ManageEngine, a platform being used by over 60,000 cusotmers. ManageEngine has been a frequent sponsor and attendee of past MSPWorld events. What you may not be aware of is that Zoho has a vision for MSPs that goes well beyond just infrastructure monitoring and management.
Recently, Zoho launched a new end user experience scoring feature for websites and applications. Designed to allow MSPs who offer website and application monitoring using Zoho’s Site24x7 platform, the scoring methodology will offer customers and their MSPs the ability to see a simple and easy to understand measure of how site and applications are performing, reducing often complex metrics like response time, throughout, and performance.
“We are constantly looking at ways to give our cloud hosting providers and managed service providers new ways to increase the value they bring to their customers,” said Gibu K. Mathew, director of product management at Zoho Corp. “Apdex scores really streamline the job of evaluating and demonstrating overall application performance and end-user satisfaction with an application.”
MSPs have traditionally focused on infrastructure and left website and application monitoring alone. Historically, those MSPs who have played in the website and application space have been rather advanced and highly profitable. It will be interesting to see if MSPs answer the call to enter what used to be (and still is) considered the pinnacle of managed services offerings.
