The year of vendor merger and acquisitions continues, this time with hardware backup, disaster recovery (BDR) company Datto. Datto, an exclusive channel vendor for BDR solutions, announced today that it has acquired its distribution partner Paradeon Technologies,
Paradeon, a Datto distributor based in the UK, will allow the BDR manufacturer to continue its push into the UK and elsewhere into the European Union. In addition to UK based technical training and support, MSPs and Datto partners will also be able to utilize Datto’s UK cloud, based in a Portsmouth data center. This may be the most important aspect of the acquisition, especially in the wake of the US government surveillance programs, which have brought a great deal of visiblity and attention to the privacy concerns surrounding cloud computing in the US.
Datto devices have been sold in the UK market for the last two years through distributor Paradeon Technologies, which is now officially Datto UK. Continuing its sales/distribution model in the US, Datto UK products will be sold through Managed Service Providers (MSPs), Value Added Resellers (VARs) and IT Service Providers to end-user businesses.
“By launching a dedicated office and full-time team, we will better serve our Datto Partners in the UK,” said Austin McChord, Founder & CEO of Datto. “We’ve got ambitious plans to expand our offering into new markets across Europe and this acquisition will enable our companies to work even closer together as we move forward.”
