When IT auditors ask you about what type of PSA (professional services automation) software you use, you tend to pay attention. The MSPAlliance conducts many audits and certifications for its members each year, from the UCS (unified certification standard), Intuit hosting program, to SSAE 16 audits. Having conducted so many of these audits over the years gives you a unique perspective on how MSPs are using certain software. PSA software can either help your practice or stand in the way. But when certain PSA solutions show up again and again, it makes you wonder if there is something more to it.
Cody Griffin, lead auditor for the MSPAlliance UCS and SSAE 16 audit program, remarked that an increasing number of managed services and cloud providers are showing up using ConnectWise. “The fact that there is an increase in the number of service provider organizations going through the UCS audit that have ConnectWise as their PSA, is an interesting trend,” he commented. “ConnectWise has the capability of tying together many of the critical processes that are not only necessary for running a successful MSP practice, but these efficiencies are also mandatory in order to pass their UCS audit.”
ConnectWise users are, this very week, gathering in Orlando, Florida for the IT Nation event. As these partners meet to learn about the business model and the technology, MSPs are gaining more knowledge and insight into how the ConnectWise platform can automate more processes, ultimately making their businesses more profitable.
While automation of processes is a common characteristic of mature MSPs (not to mention something they must demonstrate during the audit), PSA solutions like ConnectWise make it a lot easier to accomplish the complex tasks of tying together multiple systems and procedures that all need to flow efficiently and accurately. Companies like ClearPointe, ITS, Mainstream Technologies, and others are proof that ConnectWise has helped them document and implement t their service procedures in a way that is consistent with industry best practices.
ConnectWise has built its business model on helping MSPs become more efficient. UCS auditors like to see efficiency and documentation. I hope more ConnectWise MSPs continue this trend!
