I had the opportunity to speak with Kaseya CEO Yogesh Gupta today and hear about the new 6.5 version of their software, along with other updates about the remote monitoring and management company. Since taking the helm last year, Mr. Gupta has made an indelible mark on Kaseya and set the company on a trajectory for growth. The new CEO had big shoes to fill but has firmly taken the leadership position at the RMM company and hasn’t looked back.
Mr. Gupta initially dealt with overseeing a leadership team transition, as the old Kaseya team exited and new blood came on board. Gupta also made a few key acquisitions, including Zyrion and 365 Command, to name a few.
Kaseya Report Card
So, how has Mr. Gupta done as leader of Kaseya? Here are some quick stats.
The company has seen a 50% reduction in trouble tickets from partners, a statistic Mr. Gupta attributes to a number of internal changes, including listening to partners, better beta testing, and a new release schedule. Gupta says that still more work needs to be done but that they are headed in the right direction.
On another front, Gupta said that subscriptions were up 50% in the second half of 2013 (compared to 2H 2012). Growth, he says, is also coming from multiple geographic regions, a good sign of broad international appeal and demand for cloud and managed services.
New to Kaseya 6.5 Virtual System Administrator
Today’s call also addressed a new version of Kaseya’s Virtual System Administrator platform, which has a number of enhancements, including:
- High-impact quality and performance improvements throughout the product, providing higher reliability and an enhanced user experience.
- Support for Windows 8.1 & Windows Server 2012 R2, for management of the latest Windows platforms.
- Includes significant architectural enhancements to facilitate easy third party integrations. In particular, Kaseya Anti-Virus (KAV), Kaseya Anti-Malware (KAM), and Kaseya Backup (KBU) integrations have been enhanced, providing easy-to-use, reliable security and back-up.
Version 6.5 is currently available for MSPs to download. Kaseya partners will be gathering for the company’s annual user conference, Kaseya Connect, in Las Vegas this April. MSPAlliance will be attending.
For now, it seems that things are going nicely for Mr. Gupta and the Kaseya team.
