MSPs to Tackle Cloud Nationalism Issue at MSPWorld

Next week’s MSPWorld conference will address a lot of issues related to managed services. Along with the fundamental topics like sales, marketing, best practices, profitability, MSPs will address recent global issue of cloud nationalism, or country clouds. This is the practice of countries (and their respective business organizations) viewing the US public cloud sector as too willing to disclose data to government agencies, and therefore, too risky from a data privacy and security standpoint.

Whether you agree or disagree with the public policy issues of government snooping and public cloud, there is an undeniable trend happening and that is countries and businesses around the world are viewing the US public cloud as too risky. So, how do managed service providers respond to that issue? Some of the discussions at next week’s MSPWorld will address this very issue.

One session at the event will deal with the government PRISM program and how it is affecting US public cloud providers. Specifically, MSPs will discuss data privacy and security and how those important issues are being impacted by the threat of government surveillance of public cloud vendors.

Another session will focus on private cloud fundamentals; from how to strategically develop a private cloud business plan to financing and execution.

Lastly, MSPs will address the very important messaging aspect of cloud, including education, sales and marketing best practices, and other methods of conveying trust, transparency, and credibility around cloud computing.

We will provide live updates from the conference.
