Management Packs is an industry term that defines a set of best practices metrics for the monitoring and management of a device, operating system, or application. PerformanceIT’s ProIT management packs, however, are the industry’s only XML-based solution that are applied to one or thousands of devices via the Management Center console and do not require installation of additional agents or software. Included in the latest bundle are Management Packs for Foundry Networks Inc. routers and switches, Brocade Communications Systems Inc. fiber channel SAN switches, Nortel Networks Ltd. Layer 4-7 switches (Alteon), Leibert Corporation Uninterruptible Power Supplies and Power Distribution Units (UPS/PDU), and American Power Conversion (APC) UPS systems.

The new management packs deliver auto-configured monitoring of interface statistics, CPU, memory, and hardware key performance and health indicators. All events are pre-thresholded and generate alarms to ProIT’s Management Center console and can be included in ProIT Service Groups for enhanced Business Service Management capabilities. All management packs are available now for version 3.x users via site licensing.
