I’m planning to open an MSP company in a month or 2 from now. I already spend almost 2 months planning.
After all the software testing I almost come to the conclusion to use Kaseya and Connect Wise. I know that most of an MSP expenses is the labor so I decide to look for another model like the one Zenith offer with the Virtual Help Desk. I did not go with Zenith because I have hard time with their Maintenance script but I like the idea of having technicians other than mine monitor and respond to my customers issues. This can free up my time to support the customers with the onsite visit and network deployments. I just need provider that offers Kaseya and the helpdesk solution. I made a small spreadsheet that has how much I have to pay on software license and how much I get back and it comes to this.
My cost per month that include 1 server and 5 workstations Kaseya agents plus my monthly payment for Connect Wise plus my PBX is around $455 Now I was thinking to charge for my Silver plan that has all the monitoring and unlimited tech support for 1 server and 5 workstations for $844. Like you can see that come to a profit of $389 per customer. Oh ya and this is not the one were my customers are supported by an outside help desk but they are supported by me. At $100/hr if the customer use more than 4 hrs of help desk I make no money. Can somebody tell me what I’m doing wrong here or if that’s the way it is.
