NEC Corporation of America Expands Leadership of Global Services Division

Santa Clara, Calif. – January 16, 2008 – NEC Corporation of America, a premier provider of IT and network solutions and services, today announced that Clay Swartz has joined the company as the general manager of the Global Services Division. He will report to the vice president of the Solutions Business, Yuji Ichimura. Swartz is a seasoned technology executive with a wide variety of experience, from developing online software products to managing virtually every aspect of IT at very large scales.

In this role, Swartz is responsible for the leadership of all administrative, operations, marketing, business development, technical and customer service activities. His primary focus will be on delivering top quality IT service, ensuring that targeted goals are consistently achieved through unit cost management, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies through implementation and maintenance of effective internal controls. He will supervise a group of more than 120 IT professionals for effective IT services delivery and business development.

Previously, Swartz held positions with Danger. Inc. as the senior director of service operations and LiveOps as the vice president of network operations, where he was took the companies' service infrastructure and operations from entrepreneurial to world-class while supporting the exploding growth of the businesses. Prior to that, Swartz was the senior director of MSN tier one service operations for Microsoft, where he was responsible for first level infrastructure and application administration for virtually all Microsoft Online Properties internationally. At Sega, Swartz was the CTO and CIO responsible for building Sega's first online gaming network.
